§ 6. Mr. Emrys Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Air the nature of the operational considerations which influenced his decision not to place missile bases in Scotland.
§ Mr. HughesIs the Minister aware that there has been a good deal of discussion on this matter in the Press, and that the scientific correspondent of the Daily Express has said that they are not to be placed in Scotland because the missiles might go over neutral territory such as Sweden? Can the right hon. Gentleman confirm or deny that?
Mr. WardHad these missiles been based in Scotland, the question might have arisen. As they are not, it is purely hypothetical.
