asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement about the Government's intentions concerning the limits within which the value of the £ sterling will be free to move in terms of the United States dollar and other currencies.

Mr. Amory

No, Sir. I have nothing to add to previous statements of Government policy.

Mr. Wilson

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that we welcome the implication of that Answer that the Government are still continuing to resist the pressure, which last autumn was very strong, from the Bank of England to widen the rates within which sterling could move?

Mr. Amory

I know of no change in Government policy in recent months.
