§ 30. Mr. Batsfordasked the Paymaster-General what progress has been made by the Committee set up to examine certain aspects of co-operation between the gas and electricity industries; and whether it is inviting evidence from members of the public.
§ Sir I. HorobinI understand the Committee has already held four meetings and has received a considerable volume of evidence. It is at present considering meter reading and billing, service centres and showrooms, advertising and co-operation in regard to the Public Utilities Street Works Act, 1950, and would welcome comments from any body or person that may be interested.
§ Mr. BatsfordIs my hon. Friend aware that members of the public are awaiting the findings of this Committee with considerable interest?
§ Sir I. HorobinYes, Sir; and perhaps the findings will be more to their liking if those who are competent to assist the Committee with evidence would give it.
