§ Mr. MolsonThe Roman hypocaust beneath the London Coal Exchange is scheduled as an ancient monument, and three months' notice is required under the Ancient Monuments Acts of intention to carry out any works affecting it. If 219 proposals for the demolition of the Exchange proceed, the City Corporation has promised to consult my Department on means of preserving the hypocaust.
