56. Mr. F. Noel-Baker

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps the Government of Cyprus will take to prevent the incitement to murder and civil war of the Turkish Cypriot population by means of radio broadcasts and newspapers from Turkey.

Her Majesty's Government have made the strongest representations to the Turkish Government about the tone and content of recent broadcasts and newspaper articles The Cyprus Press censor has on one occasion prevented the circulation of Turkish newspapers and will do so again whenever necessary.
