asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many of the 962 successful prosecutions in 1957 under the Sierra Leone Alluvial Diamond Mining Ordinance, 1956, resulted in prison sentences; what was the average period of imprisonment; and what was the average fine imposed in respect of those not receiving prison sentences.
