asked the Secretary of State for Air the minimum period of uncompleted service under his rules which a National Service man must have before he can be posted to the Far East.

We should not normally post an airman overseas unless he had at least twelve months still to serve. Exceptionally, airmen in their last year of service may be posted overseas to fill temporary vacancies which cannot be filled locally.
