HC Deb 29 July 1958 vol 592 cc1122-3
17. Mr. Harold Davies

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what grants have been made by his Departments since 1945 to the Biddulph Urban District Council, Staffordshire; and for what purposes these grants were made.

Mr. Bevins

As the Answer contains a number of figures, I will, with permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. Davies

Can the hon. Gentleman give some indication of the amount of time that elapses between the request by the local authority for a grant, its submission of plans, and the award of the grant to the authority?

Mr. Bevins

It varies from case to case. I am not sure what type of grant the hon. Gentleman is referring to, but if the suggestion is that there have been delays in respect of this local authority, I shall be glad to look into the matter.
