I should like to take this opportunity of thanking the hon. and learned Member for Kettering (Mr. Mitchison) for what he has just said. I know that it will be greatly appreciated by those who have not the power to speak in Parliament, but on whose work we all depend. It was kind of the hon. and learned Gentleman to say what he did, and if I am not thought to be a prejudiced witness I should like most warmly to endorse it.
Indeed, I think that this last Amendment is a final proof of that case. It is, in fact, statute law revision. There is no stock outstanding created by the Metropolitan Water Works, so it seems a mistake to continue to allow the trustees to invest in such stock.
