§ Mr. J. GriffithsMay I ask the Lord Privy Seal whether he has a statement to make on next week's business?
§ The Secretary of State for the Home Department and Lord Privy Seal (Mr. R. A. Butler)Yes, Sir. The debates at the beginning of next week will be as follows:
MONDAY, 21ST JULY—Supply [23rd Allotted Day]: Committee.
It is proposed to take this formally. A debate will then take place on an Opposition Motion, which is already on the Order Paper, relating to the Development of Commonwealth Trade and Economic Aid.
TUESDAY, 22ND JULY—Supply [24th Allotted Day]: Committee.
Debate on Foreign Affairs.
There will also be the additional items of business on these two days, of which I informed the House yesterday.
§ Mr. GriffithsThe right hon. Gentleman will, I am sure, understand that, in view of events, it may be necessary to change the debate for Monday. I am sure that he will bear this in mind.
§ Mr. Emrys HughesWill the Lord Privy Seal tell us when the Foreign Secretary will be back from Washington and whether he will make a statement when he does come back?
§ Mr. ButlerI cannot give a time when my right hon. and learned Friend the Foreign Secretary will have returned from Washington. He will do so, I presume, when he has fulfilled his mission and as soon as he conveniently can. We shall, of course, consider the convenience of the House in relation to reporting the work which we hope the Foreign Secretary will have achieved.
