HC Deb 16 July 1958 vol 591 c1231
38. Mr. Baird

asked the Secretary of State for Air what expense was caused to his Department by the flight of an aircraft of the Queen's flight from Acklington to White Waltham, near Windsor, on Sunday, 29th June.

Mr. Ward

About £40 in fuel.

Mr. Baird

Is it not a fact that the officers and men who were alerted for the flight are not included in the figure? Does not the right hon. Gentleman think that there was a tremendously gross waste of public money on this unnecessary trip?

Hon. Members

No.
