HC Deb 16 July 1958 vol 591 c1226
25. Captain Pilkington

asked the Postmaster-General if, in view of the representations made to him, he has any statement to make about improvements in the Poole postal services.

Mr. K. Thompson

My right hon. Friend is having all practicable steps taken to avoid a repetition of the regrettable mistakes to which my hon. and gallant Friend has drawn his attention.

Captain Pilkington

Is my hon. Friend aware that the very speedy action which his right hon. Friend took in this case was very much appreciated? Will he agree that it is particularly important that business firms should get their letters early and regularly?

Mr. Thompson

Yes, we do try to maintain a uniformly high standard of service throughout the country.
