HC Deb 16 July 1958 vol 591 cc1208-9
2. Mr. Lipton

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what arrangements are being made to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the Fleet Air Arm.

Mr. R. Allan

Twenty-one years ago the Government decided that the Admiralty should administer the Fleet Air Arm. The history of naval flying in the Royal Naval Air Service, of course, goes back much further than this. It is intended to hold a reunion in the Albert Hall on 1st December for all those who, in the past, have helped maintain, or flown, the Navy's seaborne aircraft, whether they wore light or dark uniforms.

Mr. Lipton

May I thank the Parliamentary Secretary for a reply which indicates that the inter-Departmental squabble between the Admiralty and the Air Force in arranging this matter has now been successfully surmounted?
