§ 18. Dr. Strossasked the Minister of Labour when he hopes to publish the pilot health survey of the pottery industry; whether the publication will be fully comprehensive; and whether he will make a statement at this stage of the general findings.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodThe Inspectors of Factories have now completed their 376 survey of the pottery industry, and I am arranging for the results to be considered at the next meeting of the Industrial Health Advisory Committee in October. Further action will be settled in the light of the views of that Committee and of consultation with both sides of the pottery industry.
§ Dr. StrossWould it be true to say that our suspicions that this is a most interesting report are correct, and, if that be so, may we have an assurance that it will be printed as fully as possible, so that we shall be able to study it with care?
§ Mr. MacleodI should be surprised if the hon. Member does not know a good deal about this report. I have not read it myself yet, but I am told that it is one of quite exceptional length. I dare say that the presentation of it for publication will be a little difficult. After the consultations which I have indicated have taken place, we will take a decision on publication.
