§ 46. Mr. Brockwayasked the Prime Minister if he will make a statement on his official visit to General de Gaulle.
§ The Prime MinisterI would refer the hon. Gentleman to the communiqué which was issued on 30th June at the conclusion of the discussions.
§ Mr. BrockwayWill the right hon. Gentleman inform the House whether any discussions took place with a view to France entering what is called the atomic club? If there were such discussions, would not it be desirable that this country should set an example by stopping tests and taking international initiative to end the manufacture of these bombs altogether?
§ The Prime MinisterThe hon. Gentleman has made his point. I quite understand his point of view, but I think that he would also feel that it would not be right, when an agreed communiqué has been made, for me to make a more detailed communiqué myself.
