HC Deb 30 January 1958 vol 581 cc505-6
44. Mrs. L. Jeger

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will invite the Prime Minister of Malta to London for discussions on the next steps to be taken to implement the integration proposals.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I shall be very shortly writing to the Prime Minister of Malta on matters of mutual concern.

Mrs. Jeger

Will not the right hon. Gentleman at least agree that it may be a much better way to get out of the deadlock to have personal discussions rather than to continue to try to deal with this matter by correspondence?

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Sometimes meetings help more, and sometimes correspondence does.
