asked the Minister of Education whether, in view of the fact that an annual circular is sent to local education authorities by his Department with regard to the celebration of United Nations Day in schools, he will arrange for a similar circular to be issued with regard to the celebration of Empire Day.

Both days were mentioned in the annual reminder sent out last October.

In thanking my hon. Friend for that satisfactory reply, may I ask him to consider whether this year, in view of the fact that the day falls on Whit Saturday, the schools may be advised to celebrate it instead on Friday, 23rd May?
