§ 39 and 40. Mr. Marquandasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation (1) from which local authorities in the Northern Region, Traffic Commissioners or Deputy Commissioners in the Northern Region have been drawn since 1945; and how many Commissioners and Deputies respectively, who were members of local authorities, have served more than one term in that period;
(2) from which local authorities in the Northern Region, invited to submit names for possible appointment as Traffic Commissioners or Deputies, no nominees have been selected for appointment since 1945.
§ Mr. NugentTraffic Commissioners or Deputies drawn from twenty-one local authorities in the Northern Traffic Area have been appointed since 1945. Fifty-nine local authorities have had no nominees selected for appointment in this period. I will, with permission, circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT lists showing the local authorities concerned.
Four Traffic Commissioners and twelve deputies have served more than one term since 1945.

§ Mr. NugentNo, the County Borough of Middlesbrough has not been, but in that position it is in a quite numerous and good company.
