51. Mr. Lipton

asked the Prime Minister when he will publish the report he has received on telephone tapping.

The Prime Minister

The report of the Committee of Privy Councillors on the interception of communications will be published on Thursday, 31st October.

Mr. Lipton

Can the Prime Minister say how much of this report is not going to be published? Will he bear in mind that the House and the country were given the impression that the Government were not going to censor the report submitted by the Privy Councillors?

The Prime Minister

I hope to make a full statement on Thursday, but to set the hon. Member's mind at rest, I can tell him the report will be published in full.
