asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will reconsider his refusal to allow the import of table ware potatoes from Holland, owing to the general failure of the crop in Scotland.

When my right hon. Friend comes to what I hope will be a speedy decision, will he bear in mind that substantial imports will be needed, because the shortage is expected to be acute in January, which will result in rocketing prices and will hit the housewife very hard?
