HC Deb 25 November 1957 vol 578 c806
48. Captain Pilkington

asked the Minister of Health when the building of the proposed extension of Poole General Hospital is to begin.

Mr. Walker-Smith

It is hoped to start work on the first stage in October, 1958.

Captain Pilkington

Will my right hon. and learned Friend ensure that there is no further postponement of this matter, since the need in the area is very great, as, I think, my right hon. and learned Friend realises and as his predecessor before him realised?

Mr. Walker-Smith

I do not think there is any question of postponement. We are now awaiting the submission by the regional hospital board of working drawings and bills of quantities which are required before the work goes out to tender.
