asked the President of the Board of Trade if the Government will introduce legislation to replace the existing emergency powers in respect of hire-purchase and hiring agreements.

Yes, Sir, but I cannot say when.

Mr. Cronin

Will the right hon. Gentleman accelerate his consideration of this matter? Is he aware that there is already considerable confusion in the hire-purchase trade, as instanced by the seven different Orders which he promulgated during the last Session?
