HC Deb 07 November 1957 vol 577 cc312-3
Mr. Gaitskell

May I ask the Leader of the House whether he will announce the business for next week?

The Secretary of State for the Home Department and Lord Privy Seal (Mr. R. A. Butler)

Yes, Sir. The business for next week will be as follows:

The debate on the Address in reply to the Gracious Speech will be continued on Monday, 11th November, and brought to a conclusion on Tuesday, 12th November.

It would be convenient, Mr. Speaker, if you would be good enough to indicate to the House which Amendment or Amendments you propose to call and the days upon which they will be taken.

WEDNESDAY, 13TH NOVEMBER—Second Reading of the National Insurance Bill and of the Expiring Laws Continuance Bill, and Committee stage of the necessary Money Resolutions.

THURSDAY, 14TH NOVEMBER—Consideration of Motions for Addresses to continue in force for a further year certain emergency legislation and regulations. The Motions are already on the Order Paper.

Second Reading of the Slaughterhouses Bill and Committee stage of the necessary Money Resolution.

FRIDAY, 15TH NOVEMBER—Second Reading of the Trustee Savings Banks Bill and of the Yarmouth Naval Hospital Transfer Bill, and Committee stage of the necessary Money Resolution.

Mr. Speaker

In response to the request made to me by the Lord Privy Seal, I should like to inform the House that I have considered the Amendments to the Motion for an Address and that I propose to select that standing in the name of the Leader of the Opposition, on the national housing problem, for debate on Monday, and that standing in the name of the same right hon. Gentleman, on increased production and productivity, on Tuesday.
