Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to make further provision as to the constitution of parish councils, and as to the powers of parish councils and parish meetings, in rural parishes in England and Wales, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of any increase in the sums so payable under Part I of the Local Government Act, 1948, or under the Local Government (Financial Provisions) (Scotland) Act, 1954, as amended by the Valuation and Rating (Scotland) Act, 1956, which may be attributable to provisions of the said Act of the present Session,—[Mr. Powell.]
