§ 29. Mr. G. Darlingasked the Postmaster-General what proposals he has for the appointment of a committee to inquire into the present organisation of sound and television broadcasting and to make recommendations for future developments.
§ Mr. MarplesNone, Sir, at present.
§ Mr. DarlingIf, as was stated in reply to a previous Question, the Government are considering setting up a committee to inquire into this matter, could we have a discussion in the House to cover the terms of reference which I mentioned before and generally to consider broadcasting policy, as a result of which a committee could be set up to deal with the technical questions and so on?
§ Mr. MarplesThe question of discussion in the House is not a matter for me but for the Leader of the House.
