HC Deb 14 May 1957 vol 570 c198
19. Mr. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the scheme for the inoculation of children with poliomyelitis vaccine.

Mr. J. N. Browne

I would ask the hon. Member to await the statement to he made tomorrow by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health which, with my right hon. Friend's agreement, will deal with the position in Great Britain as a whole.

Mr. Ross

Would it not have been a good idea for the Secretary of State for Scotland to have made this announcement today and to have spoken for England for a change?

Mr. Browne

The statement which my right hon. Friend will make is too long to be suitable to be dealt with by Question and Answer at Question Time, but I have no doubt that the hon. Gentleman will be able to raise questions on Scottish aspects.
