asked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations if he will make a statement on the result of the talks between officials from the Admiralty, Air Ministry and Treasury and the Ceylonese Government on facilities to be granted to Britain after the transfer of United Kingdom bases to Ceylon next October.

I am not in a position to make any statement since discussions with the Ceylon Government are still proceeding.
