§ Sir F. MedlicottIs my right hon. Friend aware that, so far as it goes, that statement will give a great deal of reassurance in the county? Would he bear in mind that the Army could ill afford to be without this great regiment, which has served Britain with such efficiency, cheerfulness and courage in all parts of the world?
§ Mr. HareI hope that my hon. Friend does not misunderstand what I say. The question whether cuts will have to be applied to the infantry as a whole has not been decided. Therefore, the future of individual units cannot be considered at this stage.
