HC Deb 25 March 1957 vol 567 c785
39. Mr. Lipton

asked the Minister of Health what consultations he is now having with the medical profession about the interim adjustment of pay for general practitioners.

Mr. Vosper

I have nothing to add to my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister's reply to the hon. Member's Question on 19th March.

Mr. Lipton

If no consultations are taking place and if arbitration is denied, how on earth is this problem being dealt with? How long is this policy of drift and shift to continue? Will the right hon. Gentleman take note of the fact that both The Times and the Daily Mirror consider that general practitioners have a legitimate grievance?

Mr. Vosper

My right hon. Friend said he would make a statement in due course. Nothing has happened since 19th March to affect that position.
