asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that 30 per cent. Purchase Tax has been imposed on the safety device for cookers which won the award in the international competition; and as safety attachments are now fitted to electric and gas fires, free of Purchase Tax, if he will reconsider his decision.

My right hon. Friend has noted the hon. Lady's suggestion.

Will my hon. Friend convey to his right hon. Friend that I should like him to note my cooperation with the hon. Lady opposite in this matter? May I have an answer?
