HC Deb 19 March 1957 vol 567 c181
Mr. Hastings

Mr. Speaker, I desire to present a petition signed by 6,400 residents and electors of the Borough of Barking in the County of Essex. The Petition reads as follows: To the House the Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Parliament assembled: The Humble Petition of the residents and electors of the Constituency of Barking Sheweth: That severe hardship would follow to many electors if the Rent Bill now before Parliament became law. Wherefore your Petitioners pray that the said Rent Bill should not be proceeded with. And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray, etc.

To lie upon the Table.
