§ 33. Miss Herbisonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when all severely disabled persons who require invalid cars to get them to and from their work will be supplied with one.
§ Mr. MaclayCars are supplied to severely disabled war pensioners who are receiving pension at the 100 per cent. rate and are accepted as coming within certain medical categories of disablement. I am advised that all war pensioners qualified to receive cars have them. All other equally disabled persons are qualified to receive motor tricycles.
§ Miss HerbisonIs the Minister aware that on two occasions I have taken up with him a case of one of my constituents, and that on both occasions I have been informed by the Ministers at the 203 Scottish Office that this constituent cannot get a car until all those who need cars for work have got them? Is he also aware that this answer does not line up with previous replies I have received?
§ Mr. MaclayThe information I have given is correct as far as I can possibly check, but I would be glad to look at these cases again.
