asked the Paymaster-General the reasons for the delay in announcing the Government's proposals for an expanded and accelerated nuclear power programme.

asked the Paymaster-General if he will now make a statement on the proposed expansion of the nuclear power programme.

I hope to make an announcement tomorrow.

While welcoming that statement, may I ask the right hon. Gentleman whether the Treasury has agreed to make some financial assistance available for the very large programme that is expected?
