HC Deb 04 June 1957 vol 571 cc1063-4
26. Mr. Grimond

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will now arrange for an annual report by the Capital Issues Committee.

Mr. P. Thorneycroft

No, Sir; but I am considering the regular publication of figures in the way suggested by the hon. Member for Essex, South-East (Mr. Braine) on 9th April.

Mr. Grimond

Does that include the number of applications to the Committee and the number of applications refused? Will the Chancellor include in his statement a statement of the principles on which the Committee is working?

Mr. Thorneycroft

The principles on which the Committee is working are stated from time to time in Questions and Answers in the House of Commons. The statement would include the number of applications which have been made.
