§ 32. Mr. Royleasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what reply has been given by Her Majesty's Government to the recomemndation of the Constitution Committee of the Bahamas that six members be elected to the Executive Council by the House of Assembly and that the elected Executive Council should advise the Governor on the appointment of public boards and commissions, standing committees and public authorities.
§ Mr. ProfumoThe consideration of the Committee's Report in the Bahamas is not yet completed. The question of a reply does not therefore yet arise.
§ Mr. RoyleIs not it a fact that the Committee was devastating in its criticism of the present Constitution? Will the Minister hurry up this matter? Further, will he have more copies of this very important Report placed in the Library and made available to Members?
§ Mr. ProfumoTo the last part of the hon. Member's supplementary question, the answer is "Yes". The Report of the Committee of the House of Assembly is now being considered by the Legislative Council and the Council has sent the Report to a Committee. That is the stage reached.
