HC Deb 25 February 1957 vol 565 cc836-7
12. Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster to what extent his duties in relation to the co-ordination of information extend to Scotland.

Dr. Hill

My co-ordinating function covers the information services generally including those of the Scottish Departments.

Mr. Hughes

Will the Chancellor tell us whether he intends to explain to Scots doctors why the Government have prescribed a Royal Commission for them? Is he aware of the view of doctors in Scotland that this is an attempt by the Government to side-track them? Can he tell us, in view of his long experience, how he will handle that publicity problem?

Dr. Hill

My right hon. Friends the Minister of Health and the Secretary of State for Scotland will, no doubt, supply any information the hon. Member needs on that subject.
