HC Deb 21 February 1957 vol 565 cc564-5
4. Sir I. Fraser

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will make a statement on the recommendations of the Runciman Committee on Horticultural Marketing.

Mr. Amory

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Malden (Mr. B. Harrison) on 28th January.

Sir I. Fraser

When may we expect to hear from my right hon. Friend on this matter?

Mr. Amory

In that reply, I said that the proposals would require a good deal of consideration by the interests involved, and then I shall hope to have consultation with all those interests. I said in my recent reply that I hoped that the Government would be in a position to announce their views on the main proposals before the Summer Recess.
