HC Deb 12 February 1957 vol 564 c1076
48. Mr. G. M. Thomson

asked the Prime Minister what changes he contemplates in the status and functions of his public relations officer when the post is filled.

The Prime Minister

None, Sir; but my public relations adviser will also act as the chief official advising the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster on information matters.

Mr. Thomson

Can the Prime Minister say if his new public relations adviser will continue to have regular and direct access to himself, as was previously arranged, and not be compelled to operate through the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster in obtaining the Prime Minister's personal views?

The Prime Minister

Of course he will have access to me.
