HC Deb 12 February 1957 vol 564 c1055
14. Mr. Bellenger

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will attach a map to his memorandum accompanying the Army Estimates showing the disposition of British and Colonial Forces.

Mr. Hare

Yes, Sir. But the right hon. Gentleman will realise that in doing so we shall have to bear in mind security considerations.

Mr. Bellenger

I am much obliged to the right hon. Gentleman, but may I ask him not to fall below the standard set by his predecessor, who did publish a map showing roughly the disposition of our forces? I therefore hope that he will not do less than his predecessor did a few years ago?

Mr. Hare

I have got the map, and, as I have said, I will certainly try to do all I can on the lines which my predecessor set, but I must be advised by my experts on how far I can go, in view of security considerations.
