asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether peaceful and secure conditions now exist in the area of Buraimi.

My information is that conditions are peaceful and secure in both parts of this area belonging, respectively, to the Sultan of Muscat and Oman and the Ruler of Abu Dhabi.

Will Her Majesty's Government continue to give the fullest assistance, including military assistance if necessary, to the rulers and people in that area to whom we owe protection?
