HC Deb 04 February 1957 vol 564 c3
17. Dr. Stross

asked the Minister of Health how many group practices now exist; whether he is satisfied that sufficient loan capital is still available for them; and what amount of increase over the annual sum of £100,000 is contemplated.

Mr. Vosper

The total number is not known, but loans to about a hundred such practices have been approved in England and Wales and the money involved is about £450,000; the fund is now increasing by over £100,000 a year and I think this should be sufficient.

Dr. Stross

Can the Minister say what is the annual rate of establishment of group practices? For example, how many were established last year?

Mr. Vosper

I cannot provide that information now, but I will send it to the hon. Member.
