§ 29. Mr. Rossasked the Postmaster-General how many telephone subscribers in Scotland have given up their telephones since the last charges and rental increases were announced; and how many of these were in respect of business premises.
§ Mr. MarplesThe figures are 13,567 and 1,651 respectively. Not all of these are attributed to the increased charges since over a similar period prior to the announcement on 18th July the corresponding figures were 5,740 and 1,640. Since that date over 12,000 new telephones have been installed in Scotland.
