§ Mr. MarplesThree sets of Regulations are now in operation. I am sending the hon. Member copies. They may be enforced in individual cases by notices served by me under Sections 11 and 12 of the Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1949.
§ Mr. HobsonIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that there has been considerable interference to very high frequency wireless sets from the emission of electromagnetic energy from motor cars and other electrical equipment, including television sets? What is the purpose of inviting people to have V.H.F. sets in what are termed "mush" areas, as well as in normal areas not subject to interference? Should not he do something about it?
§ Mr. MarplesIf the hon. Gentleman will let me have particulars of any area where this is happening, I will have the matter looked into. The real difficulty is that the Regulations which were made apply only to new motor cars and so on after June, 1953. It would be very difficult to examine every old motor car to see whether or not it interferes with wireless reception. That is the major difficulty.
