That this House welcomes the progress made during the past ten years in the economic, social, and political development of Tanganyika; and, recognising that the further development of the potential mineral and agricultural resources of the Territory can result in a measure of prosperity upon which advancement in the social services can be achieved to the benefit of all races, urges the Government to continue its encouragement of such further development and to pursue its present policy of ensuring a substantial period of political stability without political stagnation.This is a very large and wide subject, and it is unfortunate that it comes on at this time in the afternoon. There are in the Chamber two hon. Members, and myself as a third, who were members of a Parliamentary delegation to Tanganyika for a month during this autumn—
