§ 6. Mr. Willeyasked the Minister of Agriculture. Fisheries and Food what progress he has made in his examination of the working of the Fertilisers and Feeding Stuffs Act, 1926.
§ Mr. GodberThe examination is still proceeding. I do not expect that it will be concluded for some time yet.
§ Mr. WilleyWould the Parliamentary Secretary try to expedite this examination? After all, before the war the enforcing authorities thought that the Act was inadequate. The hon. Gentleman's right hon. Friend has said that the Act is probably inadequate, and in those circumstances would he not try to get ahead and get something done?
§ Mr. GodberYes, Sir, but I am afraid that the views so far expressed have revealed a rather wide measure of disagreement, and so it is taking time. I agree with the hon. Gentleman that we want to press On.
