§ 47. Mr. Healeyasked the Minister of Defence if he will publish General Stockwell's report on land operations during the Suez military action.
§ Mr. SandysGeneral Stockwell's report on the land operations was made to General Keightley, the Commander-in-Chief, who will take it into account in preparing his own report embracing all aspects of the operations. With regard to the publication of General Keightley's report, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave on 3rd April.
§ Mr. HealeyIn view of the fact that the French Ministry of Defence has released information purporting to throw responsibility for the military failure of the operation entirely on the spinelessness and incompetence of the British Government, does not the Minister agree that it would be strongly in British interests to provide information to correct that impression, if possible?
§ Mr. SandysI do not know that that would contribute to the Entente Cordiale.
