§ 45. Mr. Beswickasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if a decision has yet been made with regard to the purchase by the British Overseas Airways Corporation and the British 1127 European Airways Corporation of British built jet airliners for operation in the 1960s.
§ Mr. WatkinsonBoth Corporations are conducting a searching examination into the possibilities and I hope that a decision will not be long delayed.
§ Mr. BeswickCan the Minister say whether the decisions are being left entirely to the Corporations, and how long a time he expects to elapse before a decision is made?
§ Mr. WatkinsonThe decisions are entirely in the hands of the Corporations at this stage and the Corporations will come to me only when they have made the decisions. I hope that they will come to me very soon after Easter.
