§ 16. Mr. Awberyasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will make a statement on the disturbances in the resettlement area at Li Cheng-Uk, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydI have nothing to add to the reply which I gave to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Macclesfield (Air Commodore Harvey) on 24th October.
§ Mr. AwberyIs the Minister aware that on this occasion these people were celebrating the anniversary of the establishment of the Republic set up by Sun Yat-Sen, which we have supported in the past? It was a national holiday. Would he give an assurance that nobody will interfere with the use of flags on holidays of this character?
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe use of flags that leads to such incidents must be looked at in rather a different perspective.
