HC Deb 22 November 1956 vol 560 c1905
1. Mr. Lewis

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware of the concern felt by the British toy trade at the growing practice of United States industry in copying British toys; and what action he proposes to take to safeguard the British toy trade from unfair competition.

The President of the Board of Trade (Mr. Peter Thorneycroft)

No, Sir but if the hon. Member will supply me with details of any evidence he possesses I will consider it.

Mr. Lewis

While thanking the right hon. Gentleman for that reply, may I ask him whether he is aware that I cannot afford a secretary and I cannot oblige him? Will he have a look at the Toy Trade Journal, which of course will be available in his Department, and he will there see all the particulars which he would desire to have to deal with this matter?

Mr. Thorneycroft

Certainly.
