§ 23. Mr. Albuasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation the number of graduate scientists employed by his Department, other than on civil aviation and road construction.
§ Mr. WatkinsonNo graduate scientist is employed in the scientific officer class in any part of my Ministry covered by the Question. There may well be some officers employed in the administrative, executive and technical classes who have science degrees, but I do not know how many.
§ Mr. AlbuWould the Minister not agree that with his very wide responsibility for every form of transport he would be helped by some form of operational research, and that for this purpose it would be of great advantage to have some scientific advice?
§ Mr. WatkinsonI will certainly look at that.
